The world renowned LV logo has been taken illegally under the government enforced copyright law by Sony BMG to feature in a series of celebrity music videos such as Britney Spears, rapper Da Brat and American Idol winner Ruben Studdard.

Wikipedia Definition: copyright is a legal concept, enacted by governments, giving the creator of an original work of authorship exclusive rights to it, usually for a limited time, after which the work enters the public domain. Generally, it is "the right to copy", but also gives the copyright holder the right to be credited for the work, to determine who may adapt the work to other forms, who may perform the work, who may be financially benefit from it, and the other related rights. It is an intellectual property form (like the patent, the trademark, and the trade secret) applicable to any expressible form of an idea or information that is substantive and discrete.

LV is one of the oldest fashion houses in the world having started in 1854 with their products sold strictly via its own retail stores and online. The brands untouchable exclusivity and highly regarded name recognition has resulted in the LV brand becoming one of the most counterfeited contemporary luxury brands the black market has seen in recent times.

Sony BMG heads have given their promise to "educate its record labels" in regards to copyright laws according to New York Daily News. Evidence of the copyright infringement by Sony BMG can be seen in Britney Spears "Do Somethin'" music video whilst driving in a hummer sporting an LV embellished dashboard; Da Brat included a beachball featuring the logo and American idol winner, Studdard used the design on his album cover for 2006's The Return.
