Welcome to this week's Interior SPY

Looking for inspiration in and around the home? 'Interior SPY' searches high and low to bring you a multitude of funky shops and websites selling everything and anything from fancy wallpaper to hand painted tiles.

We all know that Scandinavian designs are pretty cool and that they produce some of the best designs in the world.  Scandinavian designers are world class renown for their creative expertise in design and their creative talent far out reaches that of their conterparts in design.  Having said that this week Interior SPY looks at Scandinavian designs…

They have some great wall Art check out Jasper Zacco's work below…

I have also come across Marimenko which also have a boutique in St. Christophers Place in London.  They produce some beautiful fabrics I really am a fan of them and wanted to share them with you

Marimekko – eventful, colourful and creative fabrics since 1951

Viljo and Armi Ratia started the Finnish textile Company Marimekko in May 1951.  The Company had its prime time during the sixties and the seventies, but is even more popular after their re-introduction of a collection of their classic textile patterns, which they presented at the Company’s fiftieth anniversary in 2001.

Marimekko
is well known for its printed cotton textiles in beautiful patterns and colours, such as
Hetkiä and Kaiku, but also for the special Marimekko clothes made only by cotton. Several well known Finnish designers are working and have been working for Marimekko; Maija Isola, Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi, Annika Rimala and Fujiwo Ishimoto are maybe the most famous.

PXL pendant – multicolored

The lamp PXL, designed by Fredrik Mattson, has attracted a lot of attention and can truly be called eye candy.

The designer's own words:
"The traditional archetype of a lamp form is sliced up and transformed into rings. The result resembles a bit of a 3-D "low-resolution object" with its pixel and edgy character."
