Your first step-Planning your online shop…

First thing first what to sell? This is kind of important it being a shop and all (an empty shop is definitely not good). Make sure you have all your details organised  and ready to go! All details will be passed to your web designer who will work their magic and create an excellent and individual ecommerce shop. …

How to achieve such standards? Have a clear idea and knowledge of the style you're aiming for this is a great start. Perhaps take inspiration and collect ideas from your favourite and already established online shops that you admire. What is it you like so much about them? Why do they appeal to you so much? Make a rough list take notes. Includes bullet points of the above elements, you can use this later on to draw ideas from, for your own ecommerce shop. Once you've completed your list begin to arrange template ideas, colours and brand designs. Al the above makes it that bit easier for yourself and also your web designer, plus it gives your ‘new born' ecommerce shop a head start!

Your second step- Photographs…

You must have attractive photos of your products, photograph their good side. Not so brilliant with the camera don't panic! We can supply you with all the correct tools, such as; a miniature photographic studio. This will enable you to take fantastic photos with a white background; a white background is vital and very effective, as all attention will be focused towards your products.

There's no need to keep your product photos to a minimum you can select as many as you feel is needed. There is no photograph restriction, this way you can provide customers with various angles and positions of the desired products. As well as the product "in use" this is a brilliant effect especially for example if the product is a pair of shoes.

Your third step- Descriptions…

Ok so you have the perfect picture, now you need to ‘work' the words and ‘dress' them up in the attempt to make the description as attractive as the actual product that's on display in your shop. It's no good having one with out the other! Description can be powerful and give your customer that final nudge towards purchasing and "Add to cart".

The best way to achieve such results is to combine facts with personality, keep the description interesting but colourful to amuse and ‘entertain' your customer as they shop around. This is your final shot at convincing the unconvinced half of the customer to buy.

Your Fourth step- Got yourself a high street shop?

If so you need to select some pieces with careful consideration, take into account; items you can easily restock, items you are able ship easily, items that will make the most profit and last but not least items that are seasonably timed!

Your fifth step- Lay out…

Your shop needs to be easy and well set out for the customer to navigate and shop without any unnecessary hassle or confusion (isn't this why online shopping is so good in the first place?). Pointers to consider that could make such a huge difference think of categories, colours and brand. How can you display these?

Your Sixth step- Almost there now…

Get all the feedback you possibly can from friends and colleagues. They can provide you with an outsider's perspective and double check the website for errors, you may have missed.
