Jaeger 125
08-05-2009
To commemorate Jaeger's 125th anniversary, the fashion house has commissioned Jaeger 125, the first official book devoted to Jaeger, past and present and to coincide with the launch of the book LCF staged the exhibition with key industry figures in attendence.
Harold Tillman, Chairman of Jaeger, Belinda Earl, Chief Executive of Jaeger, luxury footwear designer Beatrix Ong, handbag and accessories designer Lulu Guiness and Editor of British Vogue Alexandra Shulman were just some of the names who were there to help celebrate.

Jaeger 125 features a wealth of stunning and iconic archive material and reveals Jaeger's ability to consistently identify and commission talented, modern illustrators, artists, architects, designers and photographers.

Written by fashion curators Amy de la Haye and Judith Clark from London College of Fashion, Jaeger 125 documents Jaeger's evolution, from its origins as a producer of avant-garde knitwear, to its current position as a global, lifestyle fashion brand.

Using original documentation from the late 19th century including catalogues with snippets of knitted fabric, shop interiors and product leaflets, the story of Jaeger is unravelled, illustrating their progressive policy towards commissioning modern artists, architects and designers such as William Klein, Norman Parkinson and Rene Gruau and charting the shift in Jaeger's identity, from purveyor of radical un-dyed woollen garments to Jaeger's most recent directional catwalk pieces.

Jaeger 125 is published on 7th May 2009 and is available at www.jaeger.co.uk and all Jaeger freestanding stores.
