Feedback From Miami
29-07-2010
The show is now celebrating its 25th birthday! Its market is mainly industry based with buyers and press flying in from around the world.
We were introduced to the show by Cristina, the new designer representative for one of Miamis leading agencies GlobalTrends. Global Trends is a distribution company with a showroom in Miami that has both established and up-and-coming accessory and fashion designers from around the world. Many of their designers are already successful in their international markets and look to Global Trends to introduce them into the American fashion industry. With backgrounds in editorial, merchandising, and public relations, the creative team works with designers to develop the best strategy, unique to each line, to present their collections to buyers, stylists, and magazines.
Past editorial features include InStyle, Lucky, Elle, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issues as well as international press in Vogue Brazil, Elle Mexico, and Harper’s Bazaar in Espanol, among many others. Currently our designers are sold in retailers such as Anthropologie, Sundance Catalog, Blue Bag, New York; Rebel, Miami;
Clothing on Main, Santa Monica and a variety of resorts, including the Four reasons, Loews, and The Ritz Carlton in Miami and Pink Sands in the Bahamas.

Global Trends have a very similar ethos to Fashion Enter helping new and emerging designers to succeed headed up by a Chief Executive who has had a history of a successful press and Pr career both sides of the Atlantic.
This unique collaboration between our two companies has commenced with the Miami Swim Show and one collection has received an immediate order. For confidentiality reasons I have emailed the details to the exhibiting designers with feedback points from Cristina. However its important to note the feedback from Cristina herself who commented:
“Well done on an exciting range of new and emerging designers o ver there in London. We have been showcasing here for years and we are well established in our market. At the beginning as I am sure your designers know the US buyers are very careful with new designers. It takes some time for them to understand the brand…. We also had very important buyers for catalogues and department stores which do not buy new lines who are launching in the US until they see the brand around town. This has been a very low cost way of getting your designers names out to press and buyers with some success too I might add! I would strongly encourage FashionCapital to come out to the November show – The Coast Show and take out a full stand to showcase direct. There are sales opportunities for sure here.”
So there you have it…this is the start of the British invasion into Mimai.
