Grazia Admits to Photo Shopping Duchess of Cambridge Wedding Photo

You would be forgiven if you thought that Grazia’s Uk edition, on the 9th May 2011, had cheekily photo shopped a picture of the Duchess of Cambridge on her wedding day. After vehemently denying the claims made, Grazia have announced that yes it has been changed, but only by accident.

The accident that occurred was reported to be that in the process of removing of Prince William’s arm, Kate’s waist shrunk by a few centimetres. The irony is that in the run-up to her wedding day, the media were rife on documenting her weight loss.

However, does this now mean we are going to see other magazines covering up photo shopping with the same accidents? Here at Fashion Capital we have had our own go at photo shopping the picture and trying to work out how Grazia had altered it.

On the left you can see Grazia’s image, in the middle the photo Grazia could have used, and on the right, Fashion Enter’s photo shopped image. In Fashion Capital’s image we have taken Kate’s right arm, copied it, reversed it and placed it on the left side. As you can see, the altered image doesn’t fit and already makes the waist look smaller. To make the image fit, we have had to alter the copied arm further, making the waist appear even smaller and positioned slightly higher on the left hand side.

Whatever the reason for the Duchess’ mysterious waist shrinkage, we believe that she still looks every inch the beautiful bride, albeit slightly on the thin side.
