Debenhams the high street giant, was among the first in Britain to introduce plus size mannequins, ban airbrushing in advertisement images and use disabled models in recent photo shoots.

This week Debenhams took their campaign further to promote equality within the individuals who are usually judged for their body image, one step further, by becoming the first high street retailer in the UK to promote its fashion collections with a campaign so rich in diversity.

The campaign kicks out ‘the norms’ of advertising by featuring three models over the age of 40, another model over 70, an amputee and a Paralympian athlete.

The aim is to challenge perceived norms of the fashion industry showing that a broader range of body and beauty ideals is a good thing. ‘Our customers are not the same shape or size so our latest look book celebrates this diversity.’

Check out the campaign and make sure you spread the lovely message.
