More! Magazine Is No More

On Monday 22^nd April publishers announced that they were suspending publication of the magazine.

Stating that due to the ‘challenging economy conditions’ the product would no longer be available after the latest issue, even though More! Had been ‘constantly evolving in order to remain relevant to its audience’

We were sad to hear that the magazine would be discontinued, as like many others we had become fans of the popular articles including Men Overheard, Position of The Week and Real Life.

We’ll admit More has never been a favourite from feminist and users of the internet (as we can take from numerous forums comments) known as a bit of a sex-obessed magazine, its definitely one of those you would find schoolgirls giggling over on lunch-break. But after being published for 25 years its sad to see one of the regulars on the magazine rack disappearing.

Launching in 1988, More! helped spark the careers of Vernon Kay and Sienna Miller through regular modelling during the 90s for the mag. However it comes as no surprise to the statistics team, as at More’s! All time high, readers peaked at 400,000, yet recently had fallen to just 92,459.

The mags biggest competition was the rise in online publication, with free online articles and quick fashion fixes added with the current economy, the woman’s fortnightly magazine slowly slipped from woman and advertisers priorities.
