Payleven – World’s First Mobile Chip & Pin Device

24-07-2013

clients don’t always have cash on them, cheques are less-and-less used and due to be phased out in a few years, and how many times has a client promised to make a bank transfer and forgotten unless repeatedly reminded by follow-up calls & emails?

Payleven, a young British payments company has recently come out with the world’s first mobile Chip & PIN device. The intelligent technology works through a small, pocket-sized Chip & PIN reader which connects via Bluetooth to an App on either your Apple or Android Smartphone /Tablet.

Using a solution like this will allow small businesses and to benefit from accepting card payments at a reduced cost and with more flexibility. Whereas normally a card terminal would lock a business in for a 2-3 year contract and cost around £600 a year in monthly rental fees and minimum charges, you could get Payleven for just £89 and they simply charge a flat 2.75% fee on all transactions – with no long term contracts and minimum charges.

Elizabeth, co-owner of Tusch&Egon and Payleven customer, shares her Payleven experience: “Payleven is ideal for us as it does not need complicated installation and setup, so we could immediately use it from Day one of opening. My husband has a payleven device at our first shop which runs on Android, and I use payleven at our second shop on my iPhone, both tied easily to one account, and it means we never have to turn away a customer who doesn’t have cash. Customers who see us using it are really impressed by the latest technology and they react to it. For me – it just leaves more time to focus on my customers and the business, without having to worry about any problems with payments.”
