Pink VS Pink

Thomas Pink’s luxury shirt brand has been trademarked since 1984, is filing a case against the lingerie giant for ‘confusing customers’ by selling products under their teen label, ‘Pink’. The two companies both feature very similar bold pink text logos. A Thomas Pink spokesman commented on the dispute, that they are determined to ensure the investment in the worlds leading shirt brand is protected.
The luxury shirt brand, which last year saw sales of £33million is matching sales of Victoria’s Secret’s Pink with sales of £652million.

Victoria’s Secret, which started selling in the UK last year following an opening of a number of stores in London, has been using the Victoria’s Secret Pink trademark since 2001. VS responded to the case by filing a declaratory judgement order with US courts to ‘allow them to continue peaceful coexistence that has been in place for many years.’
