Marks and Spencer Partner With Unicef to Raise 1 Million

Taking part in 100 days of fundraising throughout their international stores, including London, Paris and Shanghai, M&S plan to achieve the $1 million mark in their first year of the collaboration.
This is the first time the British retailer has taken part in a global fund raising event, using their resources including just under 250,000 followers on twitter and over 420 stores worldwide, M&S are well on the way their way of reaching their aim of being the most sustainable major retailer by 2015.
The companies international director Jan Heere commented on the partnership saying: “Unicef already has a special place in the hearts of our employees and customers internationally and we believe our global fundraising challenge will take their engagement to another level.”
Saying they were very proud of the international partnership, M&S’s main source of donation will come from recycling hangers. Donating 50p for every £1 saved recycling hangers, the retailer’s fundraising events will also include sponsored walks and food sales held by the employees of M&S.
Fundraising will start on Universal Children’s day, commencing November 20th 2013.
