It will give viewers a chance to see what it is like behind the scenes and get an insight of the business of fashion.

Liberty’s managing director Ed Burstell and head of marketing communications Kate Brindley, will feature prominently in the three-part documentary that is set in air on Channel 4. The series will grant us ‘follow me around’ access to the pair as they attend meetings with buying teams durning the run up to Christmas. Also featuring the two during fashion seasons attending New York, London, Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks.

The 138-year-old institution has been inspired by the BBC’s ‘Inside Claridge’s’ documentary as this showed viewers behind the scenes of the internationally famous Mayfair Hotel. The aim of the documentary is primarily to invite more customers to visit the store but also to increase online sales and clear up any doubts viewers may have about the department store.

liberty_logo_01The three-parter will not be the first appearance that Liberty has made on our screens, back in 2011, the     store took part in the BBC’s ‘The Next Big Thing’; showing viewers the process of searching for British         designers. Also, managing director Ed had also  previously featured in the popular programme The          Apprentice as an expert. When speaking of ‘Making Liberty’, Burstell shows his  passion by saying “we are  a brand that thrives on innovation and we have something for everyone.” Burstell has also confessed to  catching some ‘frustrating days’ on camera and having to do his ‘breathing exercises’ when they received  some bad news on a delivery. Although there is no confirmed air date at present, the documentary is set to air in the UK this autumn on Channel 4 and hopefully, will later be distributed internationally.
