LFW S/S 14: Holly Fulton

Light chambray pieces were soon accompanied by daytime suits in matching silk trousers, shirts and pleated skirts. As daytime gave way to evening, light tinsel jackets, lattice print dresses and crystal chokers emerged as cocktail hour lay ahead.
Fulton’s muse this season was the pop siren, Noosha Fox, whose style influenced a collection of “woozy summer days, glittering nights and hazy morning lounging” that saw a fresh take on the era, with more mature use of prints, patterns and cuts then we usually see coming from the 70s.
Abstract prints were threaded throughout tying in the freedom of the era with intertwining ribbons and florals that came in a variety of shapes and sizes; from digitally printed to embroidery.

The palette featured shocks of red, powder pinks, sugary lilacs, faded neon’s and warm greys while silhouettes ranged from fitted and clean cut dresses and shell jackets, made from technical synthetics that bestow them with a structured and crisp shape, to more billowy, slouchy trousers and shirts.
Models carried fan shaped bags that gave the collection an easy going, glamorous feel, “providing the perfect foil for a woman who has a nonchalant, head-turning confidence”.
Fulton’s S/S 14 collection was a romantic and bold take on a woman who lives her life purely for the good times, as well as the moments that come before and those that come after.
