Featuring a rather beautiful Chinese model styled in head-to-toe Ji Cheng, sporting some Spock-style eyebrows and perfectly made-up lips she captivates and entices her male lover. The atmospheric, slow paced sound track continued flawlessly and once the film came to an end models, made-up with the same sky-high eyebrows and tassels dangling from their hair, slowly sauntered down the catwalk.

Ji Cheng has shown under the Fashion Scout umbrella since her A/W 2012 collection. Established as one of China’s leading designers and influencers Ji Cheng’s signature style is one that blends Chinese chic with contemporary easy-to-wear style. Since launching her brand over a decade ago Ji Cheng’s designs have gained a loyal fan base with the growing population of young, independent women.

For Spring/Summer 14 she generously references traditional Chinese design; cheongsam shapes, cropped jackets, collarless coats, playsuits and shorts were combined with wrap-tie belts, laser-cuts and contrasting linear details. The colour palette was a delicious mix of mint, sunny yellow, hot pink, raspberry old-gold, pale grey and the staple black & white, while attention to structure and detail was second to none.

For the finale models walked their final circuit to some live Chinese vocals rounding off a very slick production from this accomplished designer.
