M&S Join the Fashion Pack at LFW

17-02-2014

Held at Somerset House, the M&S ‘Best of British’ presentation was a highly civilised affair with press and celebrities arriving at staggered times, so we could all get a proper look. This combined with mini smoked salmon bagels, tea and bucks fizz along with a compact but slick presentation on professional models, the M&S team certainly knew what they were doing.

The 54-piece ‘Best of British’ collection is an organic development of the line, now into its third season, and the design team referenced the Marks & Spencer’s archives to give a modern twist to stylish classics such as herringbone and check prints as well as bold, bright jacquard florals.

Belinda Earl, Style Director at M&S commented: “It was a privilege to debut at London Fashion Week and showcase the Autumn 14/15 ‘Best of British’ collection. We were honoured to share this prestigious platform and celebrate British design, craftsmanship and manufacturing. It’s a significant milestone for Marks & Spencer and the evolution of our Best of British collection.”

A spokesperson for M&S continued to explain how the heritage-based collection came about: “British heritage in clothing and fabric production has always been important to us and we wanted to find ways that we could bring that to life for customers.

‘Having always supported British fabrics, and already use more British fabric than any other clothing retailer in the UK, the Best of British collection is an extension of this, and our way of celebrating British design and talent.”

The ‘Best of British’ line is also a range that the Fashion Enter team at our North London factory is extremely proud of, as each season they produce a selection of pieces, as mentioned on the new swing tags. Over the last few weeks the Factory has been working on the spring order and the Production Manager, Caroline Ash said: “I’m proud to be a part of the return to British manufacturing, especially with such a high profile retailer like M&S.”

Here is a selection of the spring designs going into key M&S stores and online soon…
