Growing up as a CODA in Bristol JoJo loved nothing more than to loose herself in the editorial pages of high fashion magazines. Post school she developed her visual interest by focusing on photography, art, film and communication studies at college. After 17-years of travelling and posing in front of the camera she enrolled on a fashion degree course at the London College of Fashion. The course covered a broad range of disciplines including; illustration and design development alongside research and journalism.
During her studies JoJo worked with the Fashion Trend Forecasting service ‘Trendzine’, identifying trends and cultural shifts to produce high street and designer trend reports. She then landed a role with a brand new fashion portal: FashionCapital in 2002, part of the London Fashion Forum. Working as a freelance journalist she covered a broad range of articles from the latest news to interviews and catwalk reports, the core focus being on promotion, advice and support for up and coming fashion businesses. JoJo then went on to edit the portal as well as running a niche PR service before taking time out to have a family.
She has since returned to the industry and has worked on various projects from managing the ‘British Designers at FashionCapital’ boutique to styling and compiling press releases. From April 2013 JoJo resumed her position as editor at FashionCapital and has a keen interest in promoting the ethical and sustainable side of the fashion industry.
