Regents University London visit Fashion Enter

09-11-2016
On Wednesday 9th November a group of first year students from Regents University London visited Fashion Enter to see first-hand how a manufacturing factory runs as well as learn about the many other elements that go into running a successful business including finance, production, job roles and much more.
The students, after being introduced to the company by Jenny Holloway, were keen to see how the factory works and the hard work and determination that is put in by all of the skilled workforce. Leading a factory tour, Production Manager Caroline Ash filled the group with a wide range of knowledge. From producing patterns and lay plans for a garment to the cutting of material and thorough checks that have to be carried out on each garment to ensure it is ready to be pressed, packaged and sent to the retailer or etailer.
Moving from the factory floor, Caroline led the group through the Fashion Studio, where many ranges and collections are produced for smaller companies including Hospital Pyjamas, Crystal and Rox and ANDMER before heading into the pattern room.
Ending their tour in the Fashion Technology Academy the group were able to see the range of education opportunities offered including Level 1 & 2 Stitching Academy and apprenticeships.
On their tour the students commented:
“Today has taught me how a UK factory works. From the sample to the finished garment and how the factory plans the production to be ready… It was a very useful experience.” – Victoria
“I’ve learnt the different stages of making a garment and how much work actually goes into creating something… it was very interesting to learn about the process and factories.” – Colette
“Today was the first time I had been in a factory and so it was all very new to me, however it was so interesting to see the entire process and factory.” – Brittany
“The seminar educated me on the steps of production, how to fill out order forms and the many health and safety factors and procedures within the factory.” – Boecker
