Textile Forum exhibition

This season’s Textile Forum is the biggest yet, with more than 25 collections being shown from 15-16 October 2008 at The Music Room, South Molton Lane, London W1 (10am to 6pm), offering the widest choice of fabrics for men, women and children since its inception in 2002.





Finest West of England woollens will be exhibited by Marling & Evans, alongside wool and cashmere Saxony suitings, twist jacketing and coatings.





Firs-time exhibitor Carrington Fleet Fabrics will be offering designs for bridal and prom wear, as well as fabrics for the groom. Carrington Fleet holds a stock of more than 700 quality/shade options.





Shirtings specialists, Ringhart, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, has taken on new designer, Michelle Cuthbert for its newly-expanded studio design team.  Michelle graduated from Central St Martins College of Art and Design in 2007 where she specialised in woven men’s textiles and her appointment will increase the production of in house designs.





Regular exhibitor Filtex of Switzerland is predicting that black and silver grey but also medium deep shades such as indigo, blue, olive green, wine will be the top colours for the new season.





Designed primarily for shirts but also appropriate for sleepwear, gowns or pyjamas is a new quality called Count, a 2/120’s bold satin stripe from Acorn Fabrics, which has updated its website www.acornfabrics.co.uk . In addition, its Chatsworth range of fine lawn prints has been expanded as these have become more popular throughout the made-to-measure and bespoke markets as alternatives to casual shirts.
