From October 14 to 21, Moscow stages Russian Fashion Week (RFW) of season Spring/Summer 2008 with 50 designers from Russia and surrounding countries Ukraine, Armenia, Belarus, mixed up with American, Portugal and French fashion gurus.

14th RFW hosts shows of well known and cutting edge Russian designers like Julia Dalakian (last year she presented her collections on Milano Moda Donna  and Cape Town Fashion Week), Parfionova, Sergey Teplov, Yegor Zaitsev, Masha Sharoeva, Ðœax Chernitsov and many others.  During RFW Ukrainian designer Veronika Jeanvie will launch her joint project with world famous couturier Paco Rabanne. Their first joint collection will be presented on October 20 in historical Smirnoff House in the heart of Moscow.

Cathеrine Malandrino and Nicky Hilton are showing this season in Moscow alongside Russia’s best fashion talents.  Cathеrine Malandrino, real maitre of fashion, will show her s/s 2008 collection named La Colombe, full of soft volume and curvy lines, angelic harmony and light. Nicky Hilton will present her new NICHOLAI collection. It debuted in September 2007 at New York Fashion Week and is a fashionable high-end ready to wear collection. The line is a composite of her worldly elegance – each garment is devoted to the concept of modern luxury, with an emphasis on glamour. Both designers make shows in association with TSUM Department Store, key fashion point on Moscow map, well known for introducing American designers to Russian market.

RFW keeps on establishing fashion ties with other fashion weeks globally. Thanks to the Russian Fashion Week and the Lisboa Fashion Week partnership Moscow will have a chance to enjoy a collection by Luis Buchinho, one of the most advanced Portugal fashion designers. This is a return visit after Max Chernitsov’s success with his collection presented during the Lisbon Fashion Week last spring.

Russian Fashion Week is Eastern Europe’s most prestigious fashion event attracting  international fashion community. The event is a truly international fashion showcase with established designers such as Julien Macdonald, Jenny Packham, Zandra Rhodes and Armand Basi showing along with Russia’s best fashion talents.

Russian Fashion Week is supported by the Russian Federation Ministry of Culture and Mass Communications and the Russian Industrialists Union (RSPP). RFW stages two shows a year in Moscow – every April and October. RFW sponsors are Jaguar, Scintilla Diamonds, Moet&Chandon, Carte Noire, Perrier, InStyle, TimeOut and Persona Lab.

The past seasons have established RFW as a major entry in the world’s fashion calendar, next to prestigious fashion weeks in Paris, Milan, London, New York, Tokyo, Sao Paolo and Beijing.
