Michael Clarke’s opulent Orchid, available in ten dramatic colourways, is just one design from The New Contemporary Collection – a collection based on designs from Cole’s archive originally commissioned by Design Director, Douglas Robinson in the 1950s and 1960s from lecturers at the Royal College of Art.
Other designs include ’slightly arrogant’ Flamingos, in shimmering shades of pink and silver; Una Lindsay’s arresting Malabar, sweeping Rajapur and Cow Parlsey in shocking pink and black; two David Hicks designs, Hexagon and Moghul; the glamorous geometric Pompeian and relaxing Palm Leaves.
