Fashion Enter on BBC Radio 4

On 3rd March during the popular ”˜ You and Yours’ show at 12.15 Fashion Enter featured in an interview regarding sewing skills shortage here in the UK.  

 

Development Manager Jenni  Sutton spoke about The Fashion Technology Academy and how important it is to train the next generation in garment production skills. Although we have a strong migrant work force in The Factory now it is important for succession planning which is why we offer courses in stitching and pattern cutting at the FTA. Current learners on the Stitching Academy also spoke about their experiences and why they had chosen to take a practical sewing course to learn technical skills.
