Croydon Fashion Festival to kick off with a BANG!
December 3, 2024 - December 3, 2024
Croydon BID (Business Improvement District) will ensure that each participant has a free reusable cotton shopper, courtesy of Barratt, and will be sporting a brightly coloured pink or white fair-trade t-shirt, donated by M&S. Then they will also bring an item of old clothing, which will be recycled for charity when it is donated to Oxfam on their behalf.
So there’s an ethical dimension to Croydon’s first ever Fashion Week, and those taking part in the parade will be making a positive contribution to charity, whilst making a positively vibrant visual impression to remember. The combination of white and pink shirts plus lively music and street dancing promises to provide quite a spectacle.
The procession will start outside, before making its way through the main shopping centres, Whitgift and Centrale. The parade will comprise of a host of models, artists and celebrities who will all be ”˜walking the walk’ in a carnival like atmosphere.
Former X Factor contestant Ashley McKenzie, whose debut single ”˜Deeper in Love’ is due for download release later this month, will lead the parade down the street. Residents and businesses will also be encouraged to attend alongside all those taking part, and it should prove to be the perfect launch event for what promises to be a seminal occasion for the community.
