Warehouse Sale Final Day – Haringey

This Saturday 19th August is the very final day of our Unit 13 Sale and everything must go!

Come along to Unit 13, Crusader Estate, 167, Hermitage Road in Haringey, London to pick up some brilliant bargains on fabric, trims (threads, zips, elastic, ribbon etc), machines, tables, chairs, storage units and more!

Garment and Fabric Sale – Leicester

If you are Leicester based and in need of some great fabrics for your next project then pop over to the Fashion Technology Academy on Stonebridge Street. 

The Leicester team have a huge choice of fabrics along with a range of garments available at great prices. Pop in any week day from 9am – 5pm to have a look at what’s on offer.

Exam Results Day! What’s Your Next Move?

Tomorrow, Thursday 17th August, A-Level students will eagerly receive their exam results. If your interests lie in the fashion and textile industry then we are pleased to say that university isn’t the only route of entry! We have some highly recommended courses at our educational division – Fashion Technology Academy, as well as apprenticeships.

Our new academic year begins 4th September and we are enrolling now for our Level 1 and 2 Stitching and Pattern Cutting courses.

1-2-1 Tuition at our Fonthill Shop

Do you want to learn how to use a sewing machine but would prefer 1-2-1 tuition? We can help you! 

We are now offering 1-hour slots for individuals to learn how to stitch from Tuesday – Friday at our FC Designer Collective shop on Fonthill Road in Islington.

You will be taught by an excellent seamstress who has over 40-years experience!

The Transformation Challenge!

Transformation, or upcycling is a brilliant way to repurpose existing clothes into something new and wearable. 

Last Friday the FC Designer Workspace held its popular Repair and Upcycle workshop. Attendees were also encouraged to enter the Fashions Finest & Cancer Research Islington upcycling competition, which closed today (16th Aug). 

Attendees were left wanting more so we have scheduled two more Repair and Upcycle workshop dates on the 23rd (sold out) and 24th August. 

These workshops take place from 10am – 3pm at the FC Designer Workspace on Durham Road and cost just £5. To book for the 24th August (last few places remaining) tap here.

1 Day Tote Bag Making Course: Last Few Places Remaining

We have a few places remaining for the 1-day Reversible Tote Bag Making course on Tuesday 22nd August. This stitching introduction is a brilliant way to use up scrap fabrics or old clothing items and to practice using the machines. The 1-day session costs just £22 inc VAT and attendees will leave with a useful, reusable tote bag. Tap the link to book your place.

For More Upcycling This Secondhand September

Thanks to Islington Council from Tuesday 12th September the FC Designer Collective shop on Fonthill Road will be hosting free, drop-in, upcycling and repair sessions on a monthly basis. All are welcome to pop by between 9am – 5pm to try out upcycling ideas with advice and support from our friendly team. The shop is equipped with machines, threads and trims, so dig out those unworn items and come and join us! 

Tuesday 12th September at FC Designer Collective, 113 – 115 Fonthill Road, London N4 close to Finsbury Park tube station.

Islington Residents: Need Somewhere to Work?

At the FC Designer Workspace we also offer Hot Desking options for those that need a space to work without committing to a private studio.

There is availability to hire, the space / various machines, and we provide affordable rates by the hour, day, week or month.

FEL CEO to Speak at United Nations Webinar 

Fashion-Enter Ltd’s CEO, Jenny Holloway is due to speak at a United Nations Conscious Fashion and Lifestyle Network webinar. FEL recently became a proud member of the network and is dedicated to develop and share strategies to provide an ethical and sustainable way forward for the fashion industry.

On the 17th August from 11am – 12pm, Jenny will be speaking on the topic of: Driving Decent Work and Economic Growth: A Conscious Approach to Fashion and Home.

The discussion will centre on responsible sourcing, fair trade practices, and sustainable production methods, that will enhance the wellbeing of both workers and the environment.
