FashionCapital Newsletter
28th March 2018
Dear all,
‘I think you’ve taught my students more than I have in the entire year!’
This is why we do what we do, this is why we operate a totally transparent factory and open our doors to the next generation so they can learn about the real world of garment manufacturing. We were delighted to receive this feedback from founder of the Fashion Debates and part time lecturer at the London Metropolitan University Olivia Pinnock last week following a tour with her fashion journalism students.  Thank you Olivia for being so honest!
Student Success Story!
Matthew Lam who has just completed the Perfect Pattern Cutting Level 2 has been snapped up by the official tailors and manufacturer for the Queen, Kashket & Partners! Matthew will join the company as an Apprentice tailor…
‘I came with a degree to the Fashion Technology Academy but realised I did not have the right technical skills to understand patterns and stitching for industry. 12 weeks later I am so much more confident and now I am about to start a level 5 apprenticeship with military tailors Kashket and partners. I am over the moon! This is all thanks to the team at Fashion Enter’s training academy.’
These are the results we want for our students and this is proof it can happen! To join our Level 1 or 2 Perfect Pattern Cutting course email education@fashion-enter.com now!
Tailoring Academy update!
Plans are progressing with the Tailoring Academy and a huge thank you to all the positive comments and well wishes we have received. We are now reviewing machinery requirements and we just wanted to thank Alan Cannon Jones for his support. There are some really talented people out there in industry and Alan is one of them who just excels.
Estimated opening time October 2018.

Open letter to the ETI
On 27th March Jenny Holloway delivered a workshop to garment manufacturers in Leicester on Improving Profitability.

The three hour session however took an interesting turn which culminated in Jenny giving her word that she would personally contact the ETI Ethical Trading Initiative with concerns raised by the manufactures. The letter has now been compiled and sent to the Executive Director, Peter Allister.

You can review the letter here

Thank you from Jenny
‘I am overwhelmed by the support and kindness shown by everyone on the donate page. The target was set at £2k and we have nearly doubled that. It was actually much harder than I thought mainly because of how others perceive you with a shaved head! I didn’t expect that at all however not for a moment do I regret it. Seeing all the comments that have brought joy to Lydia makes it all worthwhile!’
