Featured on UKFT: FTA Builds on Apprenticeship Success

The UK Fashion & Textile Association (UKFT) has recognised FEL for its outstanding contribution to developing the next generation of fashion talent, highlighting both the growing demand for its apprenticeship programmes and the exceptional achievements of its learners. The feature celebrates FEL’s 100% distinction rate for six NEXT apprentices completing the Level 4 Product Technologist Standard, alongside its renewed focus on expanding the Level 2 Sewing Machinist apprenticeship to help address the industry’s critical skills shortage.
Delivered through the FTA, FEL’s education division, apprentices benefit from hands-on learning within the company’s award-winning ethical factory, combining technical excellence with real industry experience. With more employers seeking skilled machinists, FEL is encouraging fashion businesses of all sizes to invest in apprenticeships that build talent for the future. As a trusted independent training provider with years of experience, FTA continues to support employers and apprentices alike in creating successful careers across the UK fashion and textiles sector.

Leicester Factories Showcase Designs To Major Retail Group

We were delighted that on 21st July a major retail group sent three representatives to the Apparel & Textile Manufacturers Federation (ATMF) office, where 10 factories showcased their collections directly to the retailer.
Jenny Holloway, Chair of the ATMF and FEL CEO, commented: “This was an excellent opportunity and the feedback from the retailer was excellent from the perspective of width and depth of product. It was a little bit like speed dating but it worked! And both parties left knowing the capabilities of Leicester.”
This is a free service supplied by the ATMF to any brands that want to review the capabilities of Leicester in an ethical and transparent way.
