SEG Award in Workers’ Rights & Labour Exploitation

FCFTA Leicester has now delivered this important course to over 100 people in Leicester;  in factories and also at the academy.

Jenny Holloway CEO was in Leicester last week completing IQA’s (Internal quality assurance) for this course and it was fantastic to see the feedback. This course has helped the learners know about their workplace rights and how to spot exploitation.

Divya Kamath delivers this course in Hindu, Gujarati and English, which ensures that these important messages are fully understood. The course is very interactive and group discussions supports with peer on peer learning.

The SEG Award in Workers’ Rights and Labour Exploitation course has been funded via the local government via the Community Renewal Fund programme.

All Talk and No Action: BFTT Report

The Business of Fashion, Textiles & Technology (BFTT) is a five-year industry-led project, which focusses on delivering sustainable innovation within the entire fashion and textile supply chain. Last year (2021) Fashion-Enter Ltd CEO Jenny Holloway took part in a survey for their initial report to identify opportunities for investment, research and development, business growth, job creation and tackling skills gaps in the fashion and textiles sector. The 94-page report: Mapping the UK Fashion, Textiles and Technology Ecosystem is live to review, however a number of industry leaders, Jenny Holloway included, are concerned that this extensive report is not fit for purpose and that the government funds supporting this project have been wasted.
