Putting the UK Back on the Fashion Map!

A New Chapter for Leicester

Since launching our Fashion Technology Academy in Leicester in 2021 we’ve had our fair share of highs and lows. Leicester is home to the UK’s largest fashion and textile manufacturing hub and we all know how difficult the last two years has been. However, we are on the cusp of change and we are delighted to announce that we are moving to larger premises and will be expanding our services too.

Alongside tuition in technical skills in patterns and stitching the new location will offer sampling and short run production, repairs with our partner – United Repair Centre and repurposing with Recomme.

Over the last four weeks there’s been a steep rise in enquiries for making in the UK! At last! Now we’re going to harness all that talent in Leicester and create a sector to be proud of.

If you’re interested in working for Fashion-Enter Ltd in Leicester as a tutor, manager, administrator, or if you’re looking for a career change to the social sector please drop an email to: divya@fashion-enter.com and let’s start talking!

New Apprenticeships for the Fashion and Textiles Sector

FEL was the first in the country to offer technical fashion apprenticeships in 2010 with CONEL. Since then we have excelled in bringing the latest technologies into our fashion apprenticeships. Fashion training providers have to lead with the latest cutting edge technologies and that’s why we excel at delivery and obtained a ‘Good’ rating with Ofsted.

FEL Founder Jenny Holloway comments: “A huge thank-you to the delivery team – we’re looking forward to a big year in apprenticeships now working with blue chip companies such as Next and Mountain Warehouse.”

FEL’s Head of Education Lan Leeder adds: “I’m thrilled to announce that the FTA now offers a range of apprenticeships in the fashion and textiles sector. With the trend of re-shoring production back to the UK, these courses present a particularly valuable investment, given the shortage of industry-trained individuals in this field. The apprenticeship courses comprise formal learning on-site at the Fashion Technology Academy and work-based learning with the employer.”

FEL and the FTA can now offer the following apprenticeships:

·Level 2 Fashion and Textiles Pattern Cutter

·Level 2 Sewing Machinist

·Level 2 Material Cutter

·Level 3 Garment Maker

·Level 3 Diploma Fashion Assistant

·Level 4 Fashion and Textiles Product Technologist

·Level 5 Diploma in Bespoke Tailoring

For further information on these apprenticeships, please visit our website: https://fcfta.com/apprenticeships/ or email us at educucation@fashion-enter.com

An Invitation to 10 Downing Street

We are delighted to confirm that Fashion-Enter Ltd has been invited to 10 Downing Street to wave the flag for Made in the UK on 17th April.

We have always supported all manufacturers in the UK. Proximity sourcing is the only real way we are ever going to stop excessive carbon emissions. We don’t need to fly fabric, trims and components around the world to make clothes!  Making locally provides so many advantages and gives speed to market for brands.

Thank-you to 10 Downing Street and the Board of Trade for this special invitation.
