FEL’s Christmas Party
As Thami from the United Repair Centre said it’s all about “putting people first.” It was fantastic that both Thami and Paul were able to attend our staff Christmas party at our Haringey site. The party took place on the 11th and it was a great community spirited event with all contributing to food, drink and gifts, along with general party games thrown in. Much to the neighbours delight Jenny was overruled on karaoke this year! A big thank you to all the staff based at Islington and Haringey.
Next, the staff at the Fashion Hub Leicester will be celebrating, tomorrow – 19th December, however here is a picture from the learners party that took place yesterday.
Good Luck Skills Bootcamp Interviewees this Thursday!
We are delighted to confirm that we have our first interviews on Thursday 19th December with the Skills Bootcamp program.
One learner commented: “We are very excited about this program and we have been working to what the employer needs. I have followed the requirements for a job in repairs and I now understand what is important in repairs and reprocessing. This has been a very thorough learning program and I am now so much more confident having followed the job description and what is needed of me. I am really looking forward to the interview on Thursday.”

A Date with King Charles
On Friday 13th December FEL’s CEO Jenny Holloway was invited to a Christmas celebration at Highgrove House in Gloucestershire. Invitees consisted of a variety of artisan initiatives supported by the King’s Foundation. This year FEL has worked on the YOOX NET-A-PORTER Modern Artisan program providing technical expertise and spoke about sustainability and circular business models at the 2024 Fashion Council Germany x The King’s Foundation Conference at Dumfries House in Scotland.
It was fantastic to meet and see the diverse range of artisans, all with sustainable practices at their heart, and of course meet the King on the grounds of his family residence. Jenny and the team look forward to more King’s Foundation collaborations in the New Year.
One World Living Site Visit for London Councils
Starting off the New Year right we are inviting councillors across all London boroughs to join us and the United Repair Centre for a One World Living site visit at our Haringey HQ.
Within less than 5 years the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change IPCC states that we need to collectively cut emissions by at least 45 per cent compared to 2010 levels. All sectors, including fashion and textiles, need to seriously review and take action. Come and see what we are doing at FEL with the United Repair Centre to reduce waste and lower our carbon footprint. 15 councils have already confirmed attendance so please e-mail: mike.wood@londoncouncils.gov.uk to reserve your place!
In Need of Legal Advice?
99% of companies in the UK are small and medium sized, and their concerns around lawyers / legal advice are often overlooked. Often those who own and / or manage SMEs do not receive, or know how to find, high quality legal advice and/or that advice for a reasonable fee.

+ A wide range of corporate and commercial business law advice and assistance; includes, buying, selling, investing in, financing and restructuring UK companies; joint ventures and shareholder agreements and related matters.
+ General legal and common-sense advice to directors on their duties and liabilities, including corporate governance; and shareholders on their rights.
