Fantastic News – Onshoring Debate Brought to Parliament

Yesterday, 28th October, MP Catherine West formally requested a debate in the Houses of Parliament on onshoring in the fashion and textiles industry – a topic that lies at the heart of Fashion-Enter Ltd’s mission to create sustainable jobs, develop skills, and strengthen British manufacturing. In her address, West highlighted the need for government support to bring production back to the UK, invest in ethical fashion, and unlock billions in potential economic growth. She also drew attention to the issue of public procurement, noting that while Britain is a global leader in camouflage fabric production, the vast majority of UK military uniforms are still made overseas – a missed opportunity to support domestic manufacturing and local supply chains.
This is a major milestone for our industry and one that Fashion-Enter Ltd, together with the Apparel and Textile Manufacturers Federation, has worked tirelessly to promote. We are proud to see this vital issue gaining the attention it deserves in Parliament and thank Catherine West MP for her leadership in driving the debate forward. The UK has the skills, innovation, and passion to lead in ethical, high-quality fashion manufacturing and this discussion brings us one step closer to that goal. More updates to follow soon.
