FEL Welcomes Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy to Haringey Factory

FEL was proud to host Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy at its Haringey factory on Friday 21st November, where he saw firsthand the impact of ethical, skilled UK manufacturing. Lammy met staff, trainees and partners including MAEKNIT INC., Style3D and the United Repair Centre, gaining insight into modern British production and circular repair systems.
CEO Jenny Holloway described the visit as “inspiring and energising,” reinforcing the need for PPE, workwear, military and prison-wear contracts to be awarded to responsible UK factories. Lammy praised FEL for its innovation, job creation and community impact, calling the organisation “a shining example” of what the UK should champion. FEL continues to advocate for fair procurement and the strengthening of homegrown manufacturing.

And Finally…Remembering Paul Costelloe

The fashion industry is mourning the loss of Paul Costelloe, the much-loved designer who passed away peacefully on 21st November 2025, aged 80. For over 20 years, FashionCapital editor JoJo Iles attended his London Fashion Week shows, recalling his generosity, charm and passion for craftsmanship, qualities that made him a true gentleman of fashion. One of her most cherished memories is the post-lockdown SS22 studio presentation, watching Costelloe sketch and explain every thoughtful detail of his Book of Kells–inspired collection. A pioneering Irish designer, former personal designer to Princess Diana, and a stalwart of LFW, Costelloe leaves behind an extraordinary legacy that will continue to inspire for generations.
Until next time, have a great week.
