This Week on FashionCapital.co.uk
Were you shocked by the news that Burberry destroyed more than £28m worth of its fashion and cosmetic products over the past year to guard against counterfeiting? They are not the only ones – we discuss how FashionCapital/Fashion Enter deals with waste along with the much needed wake up call the industry needs to change.
Talking of waste, Callum Cliffe looks at fabrics being created from the likes of pineapple leaves, banana stalks, flax stalks, hemp stalks and cane bagasse. This really is the future for sustainable fabrics.
Meanwhile, Katie Farley takes a look at Richard Malone,(SS18 design pictured left) the emerging young fashion talent who excels in designing ethically-minded garments for women.
And Finally…
We say a fond farewell to our Fashion Studio Senior Assistant, the lovely Sophie Crago, who is moving on to create her own collection and brand. We wish you the best of luck Sophie and watch this space for her launch collection. In her place we welcome Felicity. Please note the Fashion Studio will be closed for meeting from Monday 6th August and will re-open on Monday 20th August.
More from the FashionCapital team next time, until then we wish you a great week.
