Learn How to Grow Your Brand with FEL & Newtown College
Next week, on Monday 24th and Tuesday 25th June, FEL’s CEO Jenny Holloway will be speaking about her personal business journey at the “Reaching New Markets for Small Business Owners” event at Newtown College, Powys, Wales.
Jenny says: “I think it’s within you if you want to be your own boss. I’ve always wanted to have independence and be responsible for my own decisions and I am very happy to share my journey in Wales on 25th June. It’s not always easy. It’s not for the faint hearted. But it can be absolutely exhilarating.”
On Monday 24th Jenny will provide her expertise in a series of workshops with Newtown College students. While on Tuesday 25th the free event is open to small business owners and will take place from 10.30am – 12.30pm at Newtown College, the session will also be available online.

Leicester – The Big Move
The big move has started…the FCFTA Leicester is beginning to move into Phoenix House. We’re very excited to start delivering skills from Level 1 through to Level 5, working directly with employers to secure a skilled workforce for the region. There will be a new programme that can take new and existing machinists to give them every single skill that an employer needs. How exciting is that!

Big Thank-You to Boohoo
FEL CEO, Jenny Holloway comments: “This is a very sincere thank-you to the CEO of Boohoo Group PLC, John Lyttle, in particular, for donating their machines from their factory to FCFTA Leicester. John these are going to go to very, very good use. We are expanding our Fashion Technology Academy, we’re increasing the amount of qualifications we are doing from Level 1 all the way through to Level 5. If you want to come and see us, anyone from Boohoo in the future, you are very warmly welcome and thank-you again.”
3D Design Competition

We have had 1239 people through FEL’s Haringey doors since November! Industry, education and the UK’s banks all want to know what’s happening in the world of sustainable fashion today, and as a result our ‘Sustainable and Ethical Factory Uncovered’ seminar and tour has become ideal for on-site learning.
Sustainability is high on everyone’s agenda and we provide a deep dive into how fashion works from concept through to final garment delivery, along with providing an overview of how Fashion AI is becoming more and more important in every day tasks.

GFF X ellesse – Made By the Fashion Studio
Rounding off a hectic Graduate Fashion Week (10th – 13th June) the final day featured the ‘Best Of’ catwalk show presenting an edit of this year’s award winners. This included the three winners of the Graduate Fashion Foundation X ellesse Tailors Programme, an initiative dedicated to nurturing and celebrating the next wave of global design talent.
The three winners: Lucrezia Gaspa – Accademia Costume & Moda, Shaojing Zhu – University of Derby and Thomas Bradford – University of the Creative Arts, had their three-piece capsule collection produced at FEL’s Fashion Studio in Haringey, along with a placement with a regional design partner, as a part of their prize.
The Fashion Studio team were thrilled to support the final year students in bringing their designs to life and the quality and fit was exceptional.
FEL’s Social Media Producer, Leah Martin, attended the GFW Best Of show she commented: “It was fantastic to hear Fashion-Enter credited as the manufacturer of these luxurious sportswear inspired designs. The atmosphere at the show was electric, all the pieces looked fantastic and retail ready.”

Time for Leicester to Clothe the World Again!
And Finally…
Finishing with some fantastic news on our FC Designer Workspace programme. We are delighted to confirm that as of end March 24 we have generated £1,067m worth of social value in just 4.5 years – and this was during Covid too!
Jenny comments: “This fantastic output has been achievable thanks to the amazing support of the Islington Council, who have been amazing with an open door policy to advise. There is a lesson here for everyone. We should not be afraid to venture into new programs and opportunities. All risks need to be calculated risks but this has been one outstanding program that we are all immensely proud of.”
