Happy Grad Season

Graduate Fashion Week 2024 is opening its doors on Monday 10th June and thousands of graduates will be showcasing their work to friends, family and industry. While some may have landed placements, jobs, or are opting for further studies, others may be navigating what to do next?

According to a new survey, Fashioning The Future, by the Fashion Retail Academy, today’s Gen Z fashion students have aspirations to be their own bosses. This is where we can help, from our hands-on, practical courses, forward-thinking, Styleverse Innovation Centre, insightful masterclasses and no MOQ production, to start your brand on the right foot.

Join us for our next free, 1-hour Zoom masterclass: Wednesday 26th June – Crafting a Powerful Business Plan in the Fashion Industry

To see how sustainability, ethics, technology and business adaptation is in place at FEL please watch this short YouTube video with FEL CEO Jenny Holloway.

Creating a baby t-shirt on the 4-day stitching course

Have you ever wanted to make your own dress, pair of trousers, bodice, or a skirt? Maybe give an old piece in your wardrobe a new lease of life? Well, you can! With us at our Islington and Haringey locations.

Throughout the summer we are holding a series of courses aimed at either beginner or intermediate level. We can offer 1-day courses, including:

Creating a Dress

Creating a Skirt

Creating a Pair of Trousers

Creating a Sleeved Bodice

These are 1-day intermediate classes, if you are looking for beginner sessions we are running our popular 1-day Upcycle workshop and 4-day Stitching and Patterns classes taught by our experienced and friendly team.

The perfect model for a baby t-shirt!

Our May 4-day course received some brilliant feedback: “I learnt a whole lot. How to thread a machine, overlocker, cut a pattern. I made a baby t-shirt, pockets and gained confidence. I would love to come back for the Level 1 course starting in September. I am someone that hated sewing but Ana and Elise have helped me find a new love for it.”

Passed With Distinction

On 30th May 2024, the FTA  team were thrilled to find out that two recruits on the Level 4 Fashion and Textiles Product Technologist Standard with NEXT, the long-established multinational retailer, have passed with Distinction. Both apprentices, Jodie and Marcus, have worked hard and been exemplary candidates based at NEXT’s Head Office in Leicester.

On receiving the news Jodie said: “I am absolutely over the moon to have received a Distinction in Fashion and Textiles Product Technologist. I’ve really enjoyed my time working and studying with the team at Fashion-Enter and am thankful for the opportunity to further my studies. Still on cloud 9!”

“Completing the Product Technologist Apprenticeship has really helped me develop as a Garment Tech. It has deepened my fabric knowledge (previously my weakest subject) and it has forced me to expose myself to people within my company I would never have spoken to before. I’m really grateful to all the team at FEL for being so supportive throughout my time on the course and even the offer of further support now I’ve completed it!” Commented Marcus.
