Outstanding Feedback on FTA Courses
The Fashion Technology Academy teaching facility located at the FC Designer Workspace on Durham Road, Islington, recently underwent a curriculum and monitoring audit from Capital City College Group (CCCG).
Chris Humphreys, Head of Quality and Tina Plummer, Head of Teaching and Learning from City of Islington College, visited our Islington campus which provides stitching skills for Level 1 and 2, as well as Level 5 tailoring and the 16 – 19 year learners on the UAL fashion and business course.
The feedback from Chris and Tina was outstanding; they commented on how reliable the FTA was – how we listen, implement and improve, and we were absolutely delighted to have our hard working efforts recognised.
We’re 500% up on budget with CCCG over the last three years and our quality has INCREASED – higher than the national average for the same qualifications as this latest report highlights. None of these results would be possible without an amazing team behind the FTA.
Here’s FEL CEO Jenny Holloway taking the team out for breakfast to celebrate.

Newtown College 2-Day Event
Last week FEL CEO, Jenny Holloway took part in a 2-day event at Newtown College providing business support, advice and inspiration to students and own business entrepreneurs.
She commented: “The interaction with the second-year students was amazing! I presented a case study about Fashion-Enter Ltd, and how this company started from zero finance trading. From humble beginnings trading from a donated shop in Croydon Centrale shopping centre to a company producing garments for Very Group and N Brown, plus an educational Fashion Technology Academy, providing education from Levels 1 to 5.”
“The second day, open to the public, was a very engaging session. The companies that attended were diverse, not all fashion, but it was a very proactive and the 2-hours ran on to nearly 3, and afterwards discussions continued into lunch!
“This 2-day event provided an excellent start to a long term partnership working with Newtown College, NPTC Group of Colleges in Powys.”
What a Total disgrace – £1.4bn of PPE Destroyed
Jenny’s recent post on Linked In on the news that revealed about £1.4bn worth of PPE aprons, masks and goggles, which were fully compliant and delivered in good order, were incinerated, recycled or written off, has received numerous comments. If you would like to have your say about this issue please add your comment here.
