The Mills Fabrica London

08-08-2023
The Mills Fabrica is a membership-led workspace dedicated to sustainable innovators.
Officially launched in Hong Kong in 2018, Fabrica has since expanded to London, opening at Cottam House, King’s Cross in 2021. This London branch is set in the heart of Knowledge Quarter, one of the world’s largest knowledge clusters.
Fabrica is the innovation arm of The Mills, the heritage revitalisation project which stems from the Nan Fung Group’s textile legacy in Hong Kong, transforming its cotton spinning mills from the 1950’s into a new centre for heritage, experiential retail and innovation.
To create positive social impact for future generations with like-minded entrepreneurs and strategic partners, the focus of the Mills Fabrica London is on incubating and investing in sustainable innovations, building an international community of sustainability, innovators, entrepreneurs and visionaries, and sharing physical spaces.

Alongside the workspace the site offers an event space, a highly equipped Fabrica Lab and Fabrica X; a unique experimental and experiential retail destination offering the public a curated selection of tech style products and innovations.
The Mills Fabrica want to nurture and encourage innovators across several design and tech industries including textiles and fashion. Partnerships include Central Saint Martins UAL, the internationally-renowned centre for arts and design education with one of the most established reputations in fashion education, featuring groundbreaking sustainability and innovation programme.
Every year, The Mills Fabrica awards The Mills Fabrica Techstyle Prize to honour the creativity and vision of a graduating Central Saint Martins student having developed an outstanding material innovation project.
Winners receive essential support to develop their projects including 3-month residency at The Mills Fabrica in either in Hong Kong or London, mentorship, access to flexible co-working space, Fabrica Lab, and exposure opportunities to media, industry partners and community through events as well as a cash prize.
The concept behind The Mills Fabrica to develop and encourage sustainable innovation is in line with Fashion-Enter Ltd’s (FEL) ethos. Members at the London branch are invited to contact and utilise FEL’s courses and technology as part of design and production for fashion and textiles.
