Savage X Fenty: The Inside Scoop On Rihanna’s Underwear Line

Barbadian pop queen Rihanna has made her mark in the world of fashion over recent years in one way or another – whether it be parading otherworldly fairytale gowns by couture extraordinaire Giambattista Valli on an array of red carpets or launching her eponymous fashion label Fenty that has received much critical acclaim from editors and industry insiders.

Reports started to disperse back in March in relation to the exciting and ongoing expansion surrounding Rihanna’s Fenty empire, with speculation of new lingerie line. Now, the Good Girl Gone Bad singer has confirmed through social media that Savage X Fenty, an underwear collection is to be debuted on May 11 to a worldwide audience.

Rihanna revealed the following on Instagram, accompanied by an image of her donning a floral cut-out red and white set; “Bet ya didn’t know it’s #nationallingerieday ? got a lil treat for my ladies…. #SAVAGEXFENTY is coming to you worldwide on MAY 11th!! Exclusively on SAVAGEX.com !! Head there now to peep the live countdown ⏱” 

According to the brand’s holding site, it is speculated that upon closer investigation the upcoming collection will encompass a large variety of differing sizes, including bra ranges that start at 32A and go up to 44DD and knickers from XS to 3X.

Within all Rihanna’s previous endeavours, a sense of inclusivity has transpired as a fundamental element, and the same notion applies to her soon to be unveiled Savage X Fenty line. Via Instagram, a campaign video was posted on April 29, which starred Audrey Ritchie, a plus-size model, along with the text, “Savages come in all shapes and sizes!! ya ready?”, vocalised Ritchie, expressing how everyone should feel comfortable in their skin. “I have really giant boobs,” the model says in the short footage. “They were double-Ds by the time I was in the eighth grade. . . whichever gender you choose to have sex with, you should be proud and find yourself sexually.” 

With the 2017 Fenty beauty line accumulating in excess of 132 million views and the evolving triumph of sports-meets-streetwear collection Fenty x Puma, it can be expected that the upcoming Savage x Fenty line will create a showering of success that will contribute to RiRi’s evolving collection of fashion and beauty must-haves.
