#LFW40: London Fashion Week Celebrates Its 40th Anniversary

London Fashion Week, presented by 1664 Blanc, is celebrating this season as the event officially enters its 40th year.
To mark this notable anniversary members of the British Fashion Council opened the London Stock Exchange on Thursday 15th February (pictured below), to acknowledge the significant economic impact of the creative industries.
The official schedule opened today, 16th February, with the long-established Paul Costelloe kicking off a roster of 65 schedule designers, 42 catwalk shows, 14 presentations, 45 events and 18 digital activations.
New to the LFW schedule is dunhill and COLVILLE while BFC NEWGEN designer DERRICK will make his catwalk debut having presented his collections previously in a digital format.
Later today, the Fashion-Enter Ltd team will be rooting for Dreaming Eli with their on-schedule presentation ‘The Dead Woman Talks Back.’ With their studio based at the FC Designer Workspace, the FEL team has seen firsthand the amount of passion and drive that has gone into this collection. The Fashion Studio at FEL’s factory in Haringey, has also been busy creating show samples for a variety of designer clients showcasing across the 5-day event, fingers-crossed it’s a great season for all.
Opening the event out to the wider community their is a City Wide Celebration of events and activities for the general public to enjoy. From clubbing gear shows by Cyber Dog at Camden Market to milliner Stephen Jones presenting 40-years of his work at his Covent Garden shop, find out about the City Wide Celebrationprogramme here.
