From Workspace to Fashion Week: Dreaming Eli Presents SS25 Collection

15-10-2024

FC Designer Workspace resident Elisa Trombatore, Founder and Designer at Dreaming Eli, presented her ‘Mother of Pearl, Daughter of Flesh’ SS25 collection as a part of the official London Fashion Week schedule.

Taking place on 13th September, Elisa opted for a presentation format using live models and the renowned artist Sophie Tea, for an intimate, live experience. Drawing inspiration from her native Sicily, Elisa was inspired by the mythology that inhabited opposite sides of the Strait of Messina, in particular, she was attracted to the descriptions of Scylla and Charybdis, two vilified supernatural monsters.

Elisa’s Dreaming Eli designs consistently address themes of femininity, sexuality, danger and contradiction and in this collection she explores the duality of the sea monster, scary and repulsive on one side, soft and beautiful on another.

The result is a collection that references water, with subtle powder blues, alongside shell-like creams and champagnes, through to pinks and blacks. Distressed gauzes are embossed onto corsets and dresses while beading and pearls add further texture. Dreaming Eli’s signature corsetry, crinolines and basques are combined with drapes, layers and lace, as well as upcycled denim with an emphasis is on being unique and handmade.

While models walked and posed in Dreaming Eli’s sensuous SS25 collection artist Sophie Tea painted directly on a draped dress worn by Elisa. The final art piece is due to be auctioned later this year.

Leah Martin, Fashion-Enter Ltd’s Social Media Producer attended the presentation she said: “It’s been fantastic to see the development of Elisa’s latest collection in the Workspace. From seeing the initial design drawings to watching each look come together, it has been a delight. Her presentation last Friday was nothing short of stunning and proved once again that she’s raised the bar for creating powerful female-empowered pieces, this time centred around the concept of elegance and symbolism of ‘Mother of Pearl’. Elisa’s enthusiasm this season has been infectious and has left the Workspace with an air of excitement and creativity.”

Congratulations to Elisa, (pictured in the centre with Workspace team members and residents) on the success of her presentation, it was truly exciting for the FC Designer Workspace team and residents to see the collection evolve and gain recognition on the prestigious London Fashion Week stage.
