12-08-2022

Focus Enterprise Hub (FEH) in Newtown, Wales, provides business support of all levels to guide local start-ups and businesses through their business journey, taking their venture to the next level. As hosts for the Made in Wales – The Fashion Event FEH featured the day-long event, catwalk show and Fashion-Enter Ltd in their latest July newsletter.

From the FEH newsletter:

‘This was a really impactful event; highlighting the effects of the fashion industry on the environment, and how new technology and changing the way businesses and consumers operate could make a huge difference. 🌍

‘Jennifer Holloway, CEO of Fashion-Enter Ltd, gave a fantastic talk on her innovative plans to create a new super material from recycled goods and Welsh wool. A sustainable new material that could be produced right here in Wales. How lucky are we to share a building with such an inspirational woman?

There was also a terrific talk from Phil Oakley, Director of Kornit Digital, whose innovative technology provides on-demand textile production, meaning items can be produced according to demand at affordable costs, eliminating over-production and waste.

‘Simon Platts, Director of Responsible Sourcing at ASOS, spoke passionately about the growing environmental responsibility of business owners and manufacturers. He gave some great examples of ways we can reduce waste, right from design through to efficient production, local sourcing and planning for reuse and repurpose.

‘That’s without even mentioning the AMAZING fashion show where NPTC Newtown College students unique designs were printed onto fabric by Kornit, manufactured by Fashion-Enter and modelled by other students. Carys and Jenny did such a fantastic job in bringing it all together. You can really see the amazing things that happen when you bring together education and industry.’
