Malcolm Offord, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State in the Department of Business and Trade (pictured left from GOV.UK), gave an inspirational talk on how 80% of SMEs are service led but exports are 50 50 for manufacturing because overseas customers appreciate the fine quality of UK made.
Commenting after the event Jenny said: “What a superb initiative ‘Manufacturing Matchmaking for the UK Fashion Industry’ was today at 10 Downing Street.
“A fantastic opportunity to showcase high quality British manufacturing to the best of British brands and designers. It was great to reconnect with old acquaintances too – we need Kate Hill’s Make It British annual event back! Plus we need to showcase overseas too! Fly that flag.
“Thank-you to 10 Downing Street and the Board of Trade for organising today, and also to Malcolm Offord, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State in the Department of Business and Trade, and to Anya Hindmarch, along with all the brands that came to greet us! How inspiring this was.”
