24-01-2025
Fashion-Enter Ltd’s (FEL) Founder and CEO, Jenny Holloway was one of four key webinar speakers on the topic of ‘How To Upcycle Waste Without Compromising Your Lifestyle!’ Organised by the Green Earth Action Foundation, this expert led session, held on Thursday 28th November, attracted hundreds of participants from a wide range of countries wanting to gain insight into sustainable practices that can be adopted into everyday life.
The Green Earth Action Foundation is a dynamic and innovative international non-profit organisation that is dedicated to creating a sustainable future. Founded in Switzerland in 2023 with the aim of promoting environmental protection and sustainable living practices across the globe.
Today the global waste crisis demands immediate action, with each person contributing approximately 1,500 pounds of waste to landfills annually. Jenny Holloway was joined by Bilkisu Garba, Managing Director of The Upcycle Architect, Hanne Ripsattoma, Creative Director of Dunesi and Namrata Budhraja, Co-founder of Shift Eco.
Jenny gave an overview of Fashion-Enter Ltd and then did an impromptu factory tour showcasing partners United Repair Centre and the work undertaken with Patagonia, Rapha, Lululemon and many others. Next Jenny showcased the Style3D and how AI is creating sustainable design and creation – minimal use of sampling on soft body avatars!
The FC Designer Workspace and retail outlet – FC Designer Collective was also discussed with introductions to the designers, the repair and upcycling workshops, and how the retail outlet operates as a space for local creatives. Collaborations were encouraged for global, ethical sales and distribution along with knowledge transfer and visit exchanges.
Jenny commented: “This was an innovative, global, sustainability online event with such positive speakers that are making a major impact in the world of sustainability. I was particularly impressed by one lady who entirely uses waste; her house is made up of waste rubble, scrap wood and other items that would otherwise end up in landfill. So talented and inspiring. It just goes to show that we need to rethink our attitude to so-called waste.
“This was a highly interactive session and the questions kept coming. I hope to collaborate with Green Earth Action Foundation again in the future.”
