Fashion Hub Leicester team

Leicester is central to the UK’s fashion and textile industry with long established suppliers and is a growing hotbed of creative talent. Based at Phoenix House on King Street, Fashion Hub is a space for learning, support and genuine partnerships, a space for all to work as one.

Fashion Hub has opened with its first cohort of Level 1 Stitching learners and proudly provides free learning opportunities to individuals that are on a low income or unemployed.

Fashion-Enter Ltd Founder Jenny Holloway said:

“In 2017 I attended a conference organised by LLEP to discuss new ways forward for the garment manufacturing and fashion sector for Leicester. One of the aims was to bring the segments of the industry together and create a vibrant hub for all sectors to collaborate.

“As of August 24 the Fashion Hub will aim to bring circularity, ethics and true sustainability to the unique ecosystem of Leicester. There is no other region in the UK that can combine knitting, dying, printing, garment making, design and all technical support processes such as pattern making and grading like Leicester.

“FEL has sincerely won two bids, which effectively will provide free skills support to learners and employers. Opening such a large venture has been a huge team effort! Grateful thanks to Leicester City Council, Alan May and the team at Triumph Needle Company, and the amazing team at Fashion-Enter Ltd, who literally have worked night and day to open on time.

“We have a proud poster in the reception of our Fashion Hub; ‘Leicester Clothes the World!’ We’re on a mission to make Leicester bigger and better than ever before!”

Fashion Hub Assistant Manager Divya Kamath adds:

“I am extremely happy that we have won two contracts, including one for the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) to continue with our delivery of skills and qualifications. The team and I are really looking forward to building on the early success of the Academy, and we are really grateful to Leicester City Council for providing continued support.”
