Female Focus – Women in Manufacturing

It’s fair to say that the combination of 2018 marking the 100th anniversary of women gaining the right to vote along with the #MeToo campaign has really pushed the topic of women and equality into the spotlight.

Next week, on the 8th March, International Women’s Day will continue to press forward and progress gender parity. There’s a strong call to #PressforProgress motivating and uniting friends, colleagues and whole to communities to think, act and be gender inclusive.

In keeping with this movement the Women in Manufacturing Summit (22 June, Exhibition Centre Liverpool) will bring together 150 manufacturing professionals – role models, mentors, and board-level leaders from across the UK manufacturing landscape.

FashionCapital’s sister company, Fashion Enter, runs a predominantly female-led garment manufacturing business. As a company we are passionate about young women getting involved with science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects and career pathways, hence we will be at the Summit to discuss routes forward within the manufacturing sector and the opportunities the industry can provide. The interactive conference format sits delegates alongside speakers, and enables sponsors to lean in and be a part of the industry’s most important conversation.
