Ample Fabrics Factory Visit…

Wednesday 1st of July! New month, new week and new opportunities. The ball is finally rolling now with the factory visits which is great news with hopefully getting that ‘normality’ back into the industry. But with regards of Leicester being put back on lockdown rules this might sadly slow things down again! However a new month and a new start like I said – so we move forward and make difficult situations into good situations!

Today I went to visit my third factory in Leicester, again with PPE and social distancing in place. I had the pleasure of meeting Salim from ‘Ample Fabrics’, I was mainly on the hunt for stretch satin for this season as well as all the newness that he had to offer for us.

I thoroughly enjoy these factory visits and seeing how different companies work and what they all have to offer. Who doesn’t love being surrounded in a room full of fabrics! It’s a designer’s dream, with your mind ticking over thinking of all the different possibilities these fabrics have to offer for your team and company.

There were great fabrics ranging from this season onto A/W with beautiful pastels to then darker textures that can be brought through in all different seasons and styles. From the famous loungewear that the world is going mad for, to the summer dresses that we might finally be able to wear to the BBQ’s to the Going Out Dresses that we dream of!

I gathered up a big bundle of swatch hangers and posted out to the team in London to have a rummage around and do the great touch and feel test to then hopefully get some orders in for the factory! Some Great newness could be on the horizon!

More from me next time!
