Celebrating The King’s Foundation Future Textiles Programme

06-02-2025
The Fashion-Enter Ltd team have regularly supported the The Modern Artisan initiative, a programme, run by YOOX NET-A-PORTER and The King’s Foundation, to provide industry expertise to trainee artisans. Each year selected fashion design graduates gain experience and the chance to work alongside over 40 brand partners and industry experts. This is where Fashion-Enter Ltd (FEL) comes in, as the team offers technical support and tuition in pattern cutting, grading and sampling, that will equip the young artisans with their core garment construction knowledge.

The Modern Artisan initiative is a part of The King’s Foundation’s Future Textiles programme which was founded in 2014. The programme was first initiated to support a growing industry skills gap and has since benefited over 7,000 people with the offer of courses and knitting groups to intensive learning placements.

Acknowledging its ten year anniversary The King’s Foundation’s Future Textiles programme is celebrating with an exhibition at Garrison Chapel in Chelsea Barracks. Members from the FEL team were warmly invited to attend the press and industry preview of the exhibition, which is now open to the public until Friday 15th November. During the preview an announcement was made from Isabelle Pennington Edmead (pictured speaking below), an alumni from The Modern Artisan 2, she has since made the annual Drapers 30 Under 30 list and is about to launch an exclusive womenswear collection with ASOS.

The Future Textiles programme encourages sustainable design using natural and locally sourced textiles. The initiative has resonated with industry across the globe and has provided an inspirational platform for new talent. Visit the exhibition to view a selection of work that has evolved over the last 10-years.
