AFBE Awards 2024: Creativity Award Winner Gains FEL Mentorship

On Thursday, 29th May, the Association for Fashion Business Employability (AFBE) successfully hosted its annual online awards event, bringing together students, educators, and industry leaders to celebrate innovation and emerging talent in the fashion and beauty sectors.
Running from 10:00am to 4:30pm, the event provided a vibrant platform for students to showcase their work, connect with professionals, and gain recognition for their achievements. The day featured insightful discussions, live student presentations, and the awarding of exclusive industry mentorships to support the transition from education to employment.
Awards Presentations: Spotlight on Creativity and Entrepreneurship
A key highlight of the day was the AFBE Conference Awards Presentations, held between 14:35 and 15:35, featuring two categories:
- Creativity Award – Sponsored by Fashion-Enter Ltd
- Entrepreneurship Award – Sponsored by THG Beauty
Each category included four student presentations judged by leading industry professionals. After careful deliberation, the judges selected one standout winner from each category to receive tailored career support.

Fashion-Enter Ltd Creativity Award Winner: Migle Svagzdyte
Beth Davy-Day, Creative Director at Fashion-Enter Ltd, selected Migle Svagzdyte from UAL’s London College of Fashion as the winner of the Creativity Award. Migle impressed the panel with her innovative vision, design execution, and clear sense of direction in sustainable fashion.
As part of her prize, Migle will embark on a mentorship programme with Fashion-Enter CEO Jenny Holloway, consisting of:
- Three personalised one-hour sessions
- One-to-one guidance tailored to her career goals
- Support in areas such as portfolio development, sustainable production strategies, CV advice, and industry insights
This mentorship offers invaluable access to high-level expertise, helping Migle navigate the next steps in her fashion career with clarity and confidence.
The day concluded with a celebratory awards ceremony from 15:40 to 16:30, where both category winners were officially announced and commended for their exceptional work. The event reinforced AFBE’s mission to promote employability, practical skills, and professional growth for students across fashion and related industries.
AFBE continues to serve as a bridge between education and industry, championing new voices and supporting meaningful career development.
