3 Modest Brands Make Their Debut

25-03-2022

On the 23rd March 2022 the FC Designer Workspace in Islington, north London held a unique preview event to introduce debut collections from three new modest wear fashion brands: Anaqa Apparel, ENNAY Official and Shama.

Over the past six-months all three brands have worked tremendously hard perfecting their designs to create collections that combine covered-up style with beautiful fabrics and detailing. Along with the collections attendees were able to gain hijab styling tips, meet and speak with the designers, view stitching and pattern cutting demo’s and partake in some music and food.

The modest fashion market has seen considerable growth over the last five years with an increase in Modest Fashion Week’s and designers showcasing and selling their collections all over the world. According to the State of the Global Islamic Economy Report 2020/21, the modest fashion industry is valued at $277 billion and is estimated to reach $311 billion by 2024.

Attendees to the Workspace event included members of the local community and sewing groups, friends and family, as well as representatives from Islington Council, current learners and other local designers.

Fashion-Enter Development Director, Jenni Sutton said: “Today (23rd March) three of our designers showcased their first ever collections in a catwalk show at the Workspace! It was so fantastic to see their hard work and creativity come to life. Each brand sent real women down the catwalk wearing chic and stylish modesty wear. Anaqa Apparel, ENNAY and Shama have all achieved so much in just six months at the Workspace, we are so proud of them and excited for what’s next with their modern modesty wear collections.”

All the designs showcased at the event are now available to buy at the FC Designer Collective shop on Fonthill Road, London N4.
