Newsletter 30th March 2016
Dear all,
Last week we mentioned the 2016 Fashion Revolution campaign (18th April – 24th April 2016) where consumers all around the world can show the label in their clothing, post a photograph on social media, tag the brand they’re wearing and ask the question #whomademyclothes. This global initiative will run alongside many other events supporting sustainable and ethically made fashion.

The team at FashionCapital have been staunch supporters of the project since its launch after the horrendous Rana Plaza complex collapsed in Dhaka, Bangladesh where 1,134 people were killed and over 2,500 were injured. And we are pleased to be invited to Fashion Revolution’s ‘Fashion Question Time’ at the Houses of Parliament. Hosted and chaired by Mary Creagh MP on the 18th April.

Fashion Enter Open Day: Wednesday 20th April 11am – 1pm
Want to know more about what we do and how the factory works? As we mentioned previously transparency is key within our business and for those in industry looking for sampling, production, training, studio space or an apprentice we welcome you to our open day to see the many facets of our business and what we can offer you. The two-hour session will provide potential clients with an overview on Fashion Enter services including membership and one to one business mentoring.

Just imagine this…there you are showcasing your wonderful collection at Pure. Then on the stand enters a junior buyer from a well-known high street retailer. She says, “I love your collection and we are looking for new brands on our basement floor at Oxford Street. Can I take a few images please as my buyer is away travelling and I know she will love your signature!”? What would you do…your beautiful collection being photographed – the natural reaction is NO of course! There is always that issue of a copyright infringement BUT she is a junior buyer and her buyer is away on business. You have just thrown away a golden opportunity – well we can help you here so this is a win win situation! Want to know more. Then find out about our memberships. Email jenni@fashion-enter.com to register for our Open Day or for further membership details.

This week in the Fashion Studio we are Hooked on Hettie!
The team at the Fashion Studio have a diverse range of skills, that doesn’t end with clothing design and manufacturing. We have made wands, hats and have even moved in to gadget and pet accessories! This week we have been working with the lovely team at Hettie who have created a new collection offering quality British made accessories inspired by classic traditional fabrics. They are family run business and involved with their product from design to finish.

We hear from director’s Sian & Stephanie about how FashionCapital has helped their brand become a reality:
“Fashion Capital has helped us put our ideas into our products. We are passionate about being a brand made in Britain and supporting the British manufacturing industry. This London based company is ideal for us, to help monitor production and have ease and speed of delivery. They have helped us make our patterns and achieve quality by putting our ideas into the sampling process. We have been very happy with the results and the communication we have with Kasia and the team. They have been very helpful and produced great products for us.”
