Newsletter 31st August 2016
Dear all,
Here at FashionCapital HQ we are gearing up for the SS17 whirlwind of shows, presentations and exhibitions. Kicking off in New York on the 8th September, London promptly follows and this season we welcome Nicolas Policarpo (right) to our reporting team, along with regulars JoJo Iles, Rebekah Litherland and Katie Farley alongside photographers Sherion Mullings and Chris Daw. Should be an interesting season, or should we say seasonless-season with so many labels adopting the see-now, buy-now philosophy.
@ The Fashion Studio
Whilst on the topic of Fashion Week the Fashion Studio is currently in the midst of creating some exciting samples soon to be revealed on the catwalk. Unfortunately due to confidentiality agreements we can’t tell you the designer brands involved, all we can say is we are very excited to be a part of it.
The Fashion Studio is also busy making another wedding dress for Louise Korner, now on its second fitting, along with some eveningwear gowns for a new designer client, which look absolutely stunning.

Join the Stitching Academy
Our current cohort of Level 1 Stitching Academy students are now in the last week of their course and we are recruiting for the next intake. Want to know more about the course and how it can benefit your fashion career then click here.
“On the Stitching Academy Level 1 course, from an academic perspective – I learnt a lot about the industrial machines including how to use them and the inspection process of a product. From a personal perspective you learn a lot about yourself and your abilities and have the ability to grow your self-confidence. The skills I learnt are necessary skills that I need.” – Marquels Williams-Braham (currently completing a Level 3 Advanced Diploma with Strictly Come Dancing.)
Perfect Patterns Spaces Available
Alice, tutor at the Fashion Technology Academy, has just introduced our extremely popular Perfect Patterns course on You Tube to view the video click here.
We have a few spaces remaining on our Perfect Patterns Level 1 and Level 2 courses commencing next week on the 6th September. If you would like to know more about the course click here or contact education@fashion-enter.com or telephone 0208 809 3311.
“The Perfect Patterns course has been a brilliant experience for me. I’ve worked within the industry for 3 years and wanted a basic yet thorough understanding of patterns – how to make and alter them and I have gained just that! The Telestia method has also been great to learn. Alice is a very good teacher who is always willing to help and ensure we learn as much as we are able to do. I would definitely recommend it to both beginners and advanced alike!” – Joanna Rose-Hazel, Student
Apprenticeships and Jobs
We are currently on the look out for new apprentices and that includes a Production Office Assistant position here at our sister company Fashion Enter. Finery London is also recruiting for a Technical Assistant, to find out more and apply please go to our Jobs and Forum section on FashionCapital.
