Newsletter 18th March 2015

Dear All,

It really is all hands to the decks as we transform the unit next to The Factory into a fully equipped, state of the art learning facility to soon be known as the Fashion Technology Academy.

Following the rise in demand for the new courses, the existing Stitching Academy will be expanding and moving into the new location early next week, seeing an increase in learning spaces and doubling in size. The soft launch date is just over a week away, Thursday 26th March, and we already have a wide range of fashion qualifications that incorporates pattern making, fabric inspection, laying and cutting, quality control, machine maintenance and stitching at various qualifying levels. We are also pleased to introduce a selection of taster courses as mentioned in this week’s newsletter.

To celebrate the soft launch, the FTA will be holding an opening day with local press, Haringey Councillor’s and past Fashion Enter students.

This Skull scarf has been created exclusively for the V&A in celebration of the landmark exhibition, Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty. Designed by the Alexander McQueen fashion house, the V&A Skull was inspired by motifs drawn from the Museum’s very own decorative schemes and architecture. McQueen was a regular visitor to the V&A and would often explore the Museum’s archives to seek inspiration for his visionary designs.
